Chennai Super Kings defeated the defending Champions Gujarat Titans in Qualifier 1 and the Finals. GT was considered the favorite of the tournament, though, CSK came out on top. Jadeja hitting 10 runs off the final 2 balls was quite stellar. CSK won 8 matches in the league stage and finished at the second spot in the IPL Points table.

With a cool captain like MSD, one of the best opening pair namely Ruturaj and Conway, the best combination of all-rounders like Jadeja and Ben Stokes, and a good bowling attack spearheaded by Matheesha Pathirana: CSK was a complete team leaving hardly any need to change anything. Ambati Rayudu has announced his retirement and CSK would release him. The replacement for Kyle Jemieson was Sisanda Magala, he was also not used, and probably after Kyle Jemieson will come back to the squad next year.

Key Players for CSK IPL 2024
It has been very obvious from the past that CSK tries to make playing 11 around some of the best Indian players irrespective of whether capped or uncapped. MS Dhoni grinds the players and makes them best for the given task. A few Key Players are listed below:
1- MS Dhoni- No one is a better ahead when it comes to Dhoni as a captain, no one is quick enough than Dhoni as a wicketkeeper, and we know what impact has Dhoni made as a finisher! He is the best in all these situations.
2- Ravindra Jadeja- An experienced finisher with a disciplined left-arm finger spin who is mindful of the conditions and capable of carrying you as the victor by scoring 10 runs off the final two balls.
3- Ruturaj Gaikwadโ He was the second-highest run scorer for CSK this season. An Indian opener with that level of caliber, who can dismantle the opposition teamโs morale right from the start of the batting.
4- Matheesha Pathiranaโ Deepak Chahar was the lone option in the CSK squad for the death overs and he was not good enough for that job. The only problem CSK had in the last season was a weak death over bowling but how beautifully has Matheesha Pathirana handled it!
5- Shivam Dube- A number of people think his best is yet to come. He was one of the most destructive batters this season. He keeps the momentum going in the middle overs and strengthens the middle order.
