The Asia Cup 2023 controversy has now resolved. The tournament will be played using a hybrid format from August 31 to September 17, with four matches taking place in Pakistan and nine in Sri Lanka, the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) announced on Thursday. The Jay Shah-led ACC last week approved the hybrid format proposed by the Pakistan Cricket Board, breaking the deadlock over the ODI World Cup of cricket.
Just before the ODI World Cup in India in 2023, the Asia Cup will be contested. Asian countries will use it as practise for WC 2023 if it is an ODI format. After the Asia Cup, the Indian team and Pakistan will square off in the ODI World Cup. For cricket lovers, it will be nothing less than a party.
