India will host the ODI World Cup in 2023. Although the tournament’s schedule has not yet been made public, it is assumed that it will take place between October and November. Each squad has begun preparing with the World Cup in mind. According to a significant update regarding the Indian team, Sanju Samson, might compete for India in the event.
According to media reports, Sanju Samson’s participation in Team India at the World Cup is all but guaranteed, since he can be one of the 20 players on the Indian roster. On January 3, 2023, in a T20 International match against Sri Lanka, Samson played his last game for India. Sanju made his debut in 2015, however as of now, he has only participated in 11-ODIs and 17-T20 Internationals.
Sanju Samson may have a chance to make the starting eleven if he is selected for the 20-person Indian team. The primary wicketkeeper for the Indian team, Rishabh Pant, is currently recovering from an accident-related injury. There is currently no official information regarding his participation in the World Cup. KL Rahul, the wicketkeeper batsman who suffered an injury in IPL 2023, is also recovering at the same time.
