In the very first match of IPL 2023, New Zealand captain and star batsman Kane Williamson was ruled out of the tournament due to a knee injury. It was believed that he would be ruled out of the ICC World Cup 2023 tournament to be held in India, but now good news is coming out for the New Zealand team and their fans.

The injury of such a captain and batsman as Williamson is not good news for any team. Recently the New Zealand team went on a tour of Pakistan where they had to face defeat and the team felt their absence. The New Zealand team shared a video on its official Twitter handle in which Williamson is seen warming up.

How was he injured?

Kane was injured while fielding for Gujarat Titans in the Indian Premier League, after which he was ruled out of the entire IPL 2023 season. But now it is believed that he is recovering from his injury and can be seen playing for New Zealand in the upcoming World Cup.

Williamson stated on Monday that while he is healing from the injury, his top priority is to make sure his knee is fully recovered before the World Cup in India in October and November. He stated on Monday, “Right now, I’m trying to take it week by week.
