IND vs WI: The Indian team led by Rohit Sharma is currently on a tour of the West Indies, where the team has to play a two-match Test series and an eight-match white ball series. The arrival of this tour will start with the Test match between India and West Indies.

All cricket fans and experts were speculating that IPL hero Rinku would and domestic hero Sarfaraz Khan will be in the playing XI on the West Indies tour. But unfortunately they are far away from playing XI, both these players were not even included in the squad. For both of them Skipper Rohit Sharma broke his silence for not being selected in the team.

Rinku Singh, who won the match for his team Kolkata Knight Riders by hitting Gujarat’s bowler Yas Dayal for five consecutive sixes in five balls in the last over against Gujarat Titans during the IPL match, had come into the limelight since then. At the same time, he also showed consistent good performance in the middle order for KKR.

On the other hand, 25-year-old Sarfaraz Khan is consistently performing well in red ball cricket. He has an average of more than 100 in domestic cricket, yet he did not get a chance on the West Indies tour. Read further what Indian captain Rohit Sharma said about the non-selection of these two.

He said, “Jaiswal and Gaikwad are in great shape and will take Indian cricket forward. You know they have worked hard in domestic cricket, and have been rewarded for the same.“

“Jaiswal and Gaikwad were on the selectors’ radar and were being closely monitored. I am happy that they have got a chance,” he added.

In regards to players being not selected, Rohit Sharma said “A couple of other players missed out. Unfortunately, you can only pick 15-16 players in the team, but everyone’s time will come. That’s what I want to say.”
