IND vs IRE T20I: Ireland Squad for T20I Against India is Announced – Cricket Ireland named a 15-person squad for the T20I series against India on Friday, August 4. From August 18 to August 23, there will be three games between the two teams in Malahide. Ireland recently earned a spot in the 2024 ICC T20 World Cup. For the series against India, two players have returned to the squad. Fionn Hand and Gareth Delany, two all-arounders, have been chosen. Delany is returning after suffering a wrist injury.
The upcoming series is Ireland’s first T20 competition since securing T20 World Cup qualification.
Ireland men’s national selector Andrew White said: “The recent qualifying campaign in Scotland was the first step in our strategic plan for the T20 World Cup next June. We have about 15 T20 Internationals scheduled between now and the World Cup. It is therefore important that we use each of these to work on areas identified by the coaching team”.
