The English batsman who could not find a place in the England team for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 that batsman did wonders in the Hundred. That batsman’s name is none other than Harry Brook who created havoc in the Hundred that has broken all the records as he hit the fastest century in the history of the tournament in a recent match against the Welsh Fire. Despite his team’s loss, Harry Brook was awarded the Player of the Match for his unbeaten innings of 105 runs off just 42 balls, which included 11 fours and 7 sixes. This century is indeed the fastest in the history of The Hundred, and yesterday’s innings helped Brook to become the batsman with the second-highest individual score in the tournament. Previously, players like Will Jacks and Will Smeed have managed to score centuries, but at a slower pace than Brook. It’s worth noting that Brook has also scored centuries in other T20 leagues, such as the IPL and the PSL, although his record in the IPL is not very impressive.

In terms of the match, Northern Superchargers managed to score 158 runs losing 7 wickets thanks to Brook’s quickfire century. However, Welsh Fire were able to chase the target in just 90 balls due to some quickfire batting from Stephen Eskinazi and Jonny Bairstow, who scored 58 runs in 28 balls and 44 runs in 39 balls respectively. Joe Clarke’s well-paced innings of 42 runs in 22 balls also helped the team win the match.
