Rajat Patidar, the star batsman of Royal Challengers Bangalore, has returned to the pitch after a seven-month injury layoff. He sustained the injury prior to IPL 2023 and had to miss the entire season. However, he is now back in training and is looking forward to playing in IPL 2024.
The news of Patidar’s return is a big boost for RCB, who are looking to win their first IPL title. Patidar was a key member of the team in IPL 2022, scoring 333 runs in eight matches at an average of 55.50. He also hit the fastest century by an uncapped player in IPL history, during the Eliminator match against Lucknow Super Giants.
Patidar’s return will add much-needed firepower to the RCB batting lineup. The team already has a strong batting line-up, with the likes of Virat Kohli, Faf du Plessis, and Glenn Maxwell. However, Patidar’s presence will give the team more depth and flexibility.
RCB will be hoping that Patidar can stay fit and injury-free in IPL 2024. If he can, he will be a major contender for the Orange Cap.
Patidar posted a video on social media of himself batting in the nets. In which he can be seen practicing against both spin and pace bowling . He has announced his return in the video’s caption. It feels fantastic to return to the rhythm after a lengthy gap and grab the bat in hand, he stated in the caption.
