Reserve Day Rules and Regulation

India and Pakistan are playing in the third Super-4 game of the 2023 Asia Cup at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. The Pakistani team chose to bowl first after winning the toss in this game. The Indian team got off to a great start thanks to the opening partnership of captain Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill, but after 24.1 overs, when Team India had scored 147 runs at the cost of 2 wickets, the game had to be called because of rain.

The Asian Cricket Council had already made the decision to keep a reserve day for this match due to the potential for rain, preventing the match from being postponed. The play will begin on September 11 from the same spot where the match was stopped the day before if it cannot be finished on September 10 as scheduled.

For the past few days, Colombo, Sri Lanka, has experienced nonstop rain. Since there was a chance of rain in this situation, ACC decided to keep a reserve day in addition to the final for this match. Rain caused the group stage match between India and Pakistan at Pallekele Stadium in Kandy to be postponed earlier.
