High Chances Of Cricket To be Featured In 2028 Los Angeles Olympics: Some 128 years after its previous appearance, cricket is getting closer to making a comeback in the Olympics, and there is growing optimism that it will be included in the Games in Los Angeles in 2028 and further editions as well.
According to sources, it is now “very likely” that men’s and women’s Twenty20 matches, in which gold medals are on the line, would be accepted for inclusion in the Olympics, creating a potentially rich commercial market on the Asian subcontinent.
In accordance with the present plan, each competition will include five teams, who will be chosen based on their performance in the global rankings of the International Cricket Council. Since a one-off gold medal match in the 1900 Games in Great Britain, the occasion would mark the return of Olympic cricket.
It would also result in the achievement of a long-term goal for the ICC, whose previous disregard for the Olympics had been replaced by a drive to grow the sport internationally in recent years, and result in a women’s T20 event at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games in 2022.
