Nitish Rana was born and brought up in Delhi and started playing cricket at an early age. He played for Delhi in various age group tournaments and impressed with his skills as a batsman. He made his List A debut for Delhi in 2015 and scored 71 runs in his very first match.
In the same year, Rana made his debut in India’s premier domestic tournament, the Ranji Trophy. He scored his maiden first-class century against Assam in the 2015–16 season and helped Delhi reach the semi-finals.
