Australian Captain Pat Cummins Might Be Ruled Out Of Series VS India

1 min read

Australia skipper Pat Cummins may be ruled out of the three-match ODI series against India next month after suffering a wrist injury in the fifth match of the Ashes Test series. Cricket Australia has not officially disclosed the nature of Cummins’ injury.

Cummins will captain the squad on their three-match ODI tour of South Africa and India. The series against India will start on September 22 in Mohali, prior of the ODI World Cup. According to the report, the medical team has not ruled out the potential of a fracture. Last week, the fast bowler injured his wrist on the first day of the final Ashes Test at The Oval. He played the rest of the game with a bandage on his wrist.

Cummins’ bowling was unaffected by the injury, although he appeared to be in difficulties when batting. Cummins is expected to take a break after playing six Tests in two months, including the World Test Championship final against India.

CA (Cricket Australia) is expected to reveal the squad for Australia’s forthcoming white-ball tour of South Africa and India next week. In Cummins’ absence, Mitchell Marsh can lead the team. The all-rounder is also vying to be Australia’s T20 skipper.
