He was then picked up by the Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) in the 2018 IPL auction for INR 3 crores. He played only 5 matches that season and did not make much of an impact.
It was in the 2020 IPL season that Tewatia rose to fame with his incredible performances for the Rajasthan Royals. He played a crucial role in the team’s win against the Kings XI Punjab, where he scored a blistering 53 off 31 balls, including 5 sixes in an over off the bowling of Sheldon Cottrell. This innings earned him widespread recognition and made him an overnight sensation.
