The Australian Team for the ICC ODI World Cup which is going to be held between 5th October to 19th November in India has been announced. Pat Cummins who is suffering from a wrist fracture will captain the team. He injured his left wrist when diving on the field on the first day of the match at The Oval. New Names such as All rounder Aaron Hardie and Leg Spinner Tanveer Sangha have been added to the preliminary 18-member squad. The most shocking decision though is the decision to exclude Marnus Labuschagne- The Former Number 1 Test Batsman In The World. He could not make it to the 18-member preliminary squad for The World Cup. Australia has selected 18 players, however, only 15 will make the Final Squad.
According to the rules of the ICC, all 10 participating teams have to finalize a squad of 15 players before 28th September. Australia will play their 1st match in the ODI World Cup against hosts India on October 8 in Chennai.
