South Africa vs India: The India tour of South Africa has been announced. On 14th july team India’s schedule was revealed in a media release from BCCI. The Indian team will depart for South Africa at the end of this year to play Test, ODI, and T20 series against the South African team. According to reports, Ajinkya Rahane may take over as captain of Team India for this Test series, and Rohit Sharma may be benched.
Later this year, the Indian team will travel to South Africa. The BCCI and Cricket South Africa confirmed the schedule for India’s tour of South Africa in December 2023, the International Cricket Council announced in a statement on July 14th.
The tour will start on December 10 with a three-match T20 series, and it will end with a two-match Test series. From December 26 to January 7, a two-test series will be held. It has been claimed that this Test series will feature a new Indian team. The Indian board can remove Rohit Sharma from the Test team and then give Ajinkya Rahane control of the team.
In addition to Rohit Sharma, it’s believed that KS Bharat and Ishan Kishan won’t play in the Test series against South Africa. Rishabh Pant and Cheteshwar Pujara, however, might rejoin the team. Following his failure in the 2023 World Test Championship final, Cheteshwar Pujara was given the exit from the team.
Young players may also be chosen by the selectors to be part of the team for the Test series against South Africa. As a result of their explosive performances in domestic cricket, Sarfaraz Khan, Umran Malik, and Mohsin Khan may be given access to Test Team India. The team has not, received an official announcement as of yet.
