Shreyas Iyer Set To Miss World Cup 2023, Rishabh Pant Ruled Out!- Reports

Shreyas Iyer Set To Miss World Cup 2023: Leading up to the ICC World Cup 2023, the Indian team went through serious injury concerns. Several players have all been out at once during the previous couple of months. The possibility of Jasprit Bumrah rejoining the team next month shows that things are now beginning to look good for India.

The Indian cricket team’s month-long vacation is coming to an end, and now attention is turning to the forthcoming bilateral series, Asia Cup, and ICC World Cup 2023. Since the World Cup is just three months away, the Indian management is working hard to maintain the fitness of its players as a number of their most prominent stars are recovering from injuries. Important players like KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant, Jasprit Bumrah, and Shreyas Iyer are out of action for quite a long period of time.

Shreyas Iyer’s set to miss World Cup 2023?

Unfortunately for Indian team supporters, there is no good news from the NCA regarding Shreyas Iyer, who had surgery for lower back issues. The middle-order batsman will still need a few weeks prior to he can get back to his skill-based training, according to reports obtained from the academy (NCA) where he is now receiving physiotherapy.

“Iyer’s progress is slow but we are still hopeful that he will recover by World Cup. But at this moment, it’s not a certainty with Iyer,” the official said.

Rishabh Pant Unfit for World Cup 2023

But with Shreyas Iyer, India’s wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant is also very likely to be absent from the ICC tournament, which starts on October 5. His recovery is fast but the extent of his injuries was ‘damn too deep’ that he might need 4-5 months to start skill training.
