Cricket’s Ashes Trophy is a trophy that England and Australia compete for. Australia’s first victory against England on English soil in the Ashes’ history came in 1882.
Test cricket matches between England and Australia are known as the Ashes series, and the teams alternate hosting the games. The Ashes Trophy is awarded to the side that wins the majority of the five Test matches in the series. The team that previously had the trophy keeps it if the series is tied.
