Number one in the world Alcaraz defeated number two In a five-set final, Novak Djokovic of Serbia lost 1-6, 7-6(6), 6-1, 3-6, 6-4. Alcaraz won Wimbledon for the third time in Spanish history. Rafael Nadal and Santana previously won the Wimbledon championship in 2008 and 2010, respectively. A Spanish player finally won this Grand Slam after 12 long years.
