UAE vs NZ, 2nd T20I: Any team can defeat any other team in the modern era of cricket. Once a team falls behind in a game, especially in a T20 match, it is challenging to make a comeback. Similar behaviour was observed during the second T20 game between New Zealand and the UAE. UAE made a splash by defeating New Zealand by 7 wickets in the game between the two teams, which was played at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

New Zealand was asked to bat in this game against UAE after losing the toss. The first few innings of New Zealand’s batting were unexceptional, and only 65 runs were scored by half the team when they returned to the pavilion. However, Mark Chapman, who played a 65-run innings in the middle of the order to help the team reach 142 runs, saved New Zealand from embarrassment. James Neesham and Chad Bowes each scored 21 runs for New Zealand in addition to Chapman. No other batsmen could score in double figures besides these three.
Chasing the target of 143 runs, the first wicket of the UAE team fell to zero. However, recovering from this initial setback, captain Mohammad Wasim and Vritia Arvind set their feet at the crease. Wasim played an inning of 55 runs in 29 balls which also included 4 fours and 3 sixes. Whereas Arvind played an inning of 25 runs. Apart from this, Asif Khan remained unbeaten after scoring 48 runs. At the same time, Basil Hameed also returned to the pavilion unbeaten after scoring 12 runs off 12 balls. In this way, UAE achieved the target in just 15.4 overs.
The New Zealand team was unable to compete with UAE at any point in this game. By defeating New Zealand for the first time in history, the UAE demonstrated a strong bowling and batting performance.
