ICC World Cup 2023: Sourav Ganguly, a former captain of the Indian team, has made a significant prediction regarding the upcoming ODI World Cup that will take place in India. According to Ganguly, teams from Australia and England can advance to the semifinals in this massive tournament that will begin on October 5 in India. In addition, Ganguly said that the fourth team could be either Pakistan or New Zealand.
In a statement to Revsportz, Sourav Ganguly said, “My top three choices to advance to the World Cup semifinals are India, England, and Australia.” In significant events, the New Zealand team cannot be taken lightly. In such a case, I’ll take into account 5 teams for my semi-final race. Pakistan should also be in a race of semifinal as well“.
If Pakistan reaches the semi-finals, it will play its match in Kolkata itself.
Sourav Ganguly, a former Indian captain, claims that because all of the players are so strong, there won’t be much mental pressure on the Indian players during this mega event. The fact that the competition was held at home this time put some pressure on them to perform, though.
According to Ganguly, there is constant pressure on you (Players). Even when he was playing, he was under pressure. During the most recent ODI World Cup, Rohit had scored five centuries. There will undoubtedly be pressure on them as well. There is no issue with pressure. He’ll find a way out of this, I have no doubt. There was pressure to perform when Rahul Dravid played. He will be held accountable for the team’s performance now that he is the head coach. Sometimes, we don’t perform well in crucial games. It is not a mental pressure, in my opinion. Because we are all very mentally strong, I am confident that this time will be better.
